Quartzite
The high selection of the nature, collecting semi-precious grains, quartz grains, from all the colours available and transformed the original sand and sandstone in a uniform texture, somewhat soft, somewhat fiery, intensively interlocked with each other, giving it a high strength, high hardness and low porosity, making it the best-friend for all variety of applications.
This is a metamorphic stone, transformed from original sandstone – composed of quartz and feldspar – two of the most common minerals in the earth’s crust. These have changed during the folding up period of a high mountain under high pressure and temperature into dense, possible to polish, extremely wear and acid resistant quartzite.
This material has relatively high abrasion resistance. It is an extremely dense material and does not etch when exposed to acidic foods, making it the best choice for countertops, especially for those looking for an alternative to the general granite.
Blocks and slabs vary in appearance and dimension. As this is natural stone, all pictures are a rough guide.
